Our Church Staff
Rev. Jarrod Caltrider
Pastor Jarrod Caltrider was appointed to serve at Dunbar UMC in July 2020. He is a native of Mineral Wells, and a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. He has served churches in Pittsburgh, PA and Sandyville, WV. He was ordained by Bishop Sandra Steiner Ball in 2017.
Pastor Jarrod is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, The Office television show, and spending time outdoors—camping, fishing, hunting, and hiking. He’s passionate about helping people experience the overwhelming love and grace of God in ways that inspire people to love and serve God and their neighbor. He desires that every person know they are precious and beloved children of God.
Terry joined the Dunbar UMC staff at the beginning of January 2013. Terry has been a part of Dunbar UMC since she was a toddler and was baptized here at the age of 12. She attended Marshall University and WV State College, majoring in Criminal Justice. Terry is a huge Marshall fan (Go Herd!) and is active in the life of the congregation apart from her administrative duties.
Director of Music
Bill started as Director of Music Ministries at DUMC in the summer of 2015. Prior to this position he was Music Director at Trinity UMC and Humphrey’s UMC.
Bill is from Sissonville where he graduated from Sissonville High School. Bill attended West Virginia State and earned a Bachelors Degree in Education specializing in Music. He taught for 30+ years in public schools and Band Director.
Bill enjoys several outdoor activities such as golf, fishing, and hunting. He is also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
During his college time he had the opportunity to sing with Barry Manilow on a UNICEF concert in the Charleston Civic Center.
Bill and his lovely wife Terri, have two children, Aaron and Lindsey, and three grandchildren, Sofia, Piper and Clara..
Gary first attended Dunbar United Methodist in the Fall of 1983 when his mother was hired as the choir director when the new building opened after the fire. Gary jokingly says, “I thought my mother had lost her mind going to a United Methodist Church because we had always attended a Baptist church.”
