Lenten Small Group Sessions

Lenten Small Groups

Throughout the season of Lent, we’re offering three small group opportunities for people to engage in as we grow together and teach the way of discipleship. All three groups will meet on Zoom so you can participate via computer, smartphone, cellphone, or landline. Everyone’s welcome- no need to be local or already part of our congregation. Join us as we journey toward Easter this Lenten season! Call the church if you need the Zoom information.

Final Words from the Cross

“In life and in death, Jesus’ words were powerful and meaningful. Despite the serious effort and increased pain required for Jesus to speak as he hung on the cross, Jesus spoke seven “final words”—statements that have much to teach us about Jesus, his Father, and ourselves. In this inspiring book, Hamilton explores these final words as seen and heard through the eyes and ears of those who stood near the cross.”

Details: Sunday evenings at 6pm on Zoom; Feb. 21-March 28. Led by Keith Southall & Jennifer Welker

Front Porch Conversations

“On behalf of West Virginia Bishops S. Clifton Ives, William Boyd Grove, Ernest Lyght, and Sandra Steiner Ball, as well as Rev. Dr. Ken Ramsey, who helped the bishops pull this project together, it is my honor to invite you into our Conversations from the Porch. This conversation, separated into three video segments, was created out of a desire to invite individuals and congregations into a conversation that would raise our individual and collective awareness regarding racism and challenge us to the work we need to do within our own beings and in our communities to eliminate racism. We hope that it will move us to intentionally build relationships that would expand our appreciation of differences. We hope it will help us to begin to write the next chapter for creating and walking pathways that work toward eliminating racism in all its forms helping us to become more anti-racist in our thoughts, words, and deeds.”

Details: Wednesdays, 11am & 6pm on Zoom; classes begin Feb. 24-March 31. Led by Pastor Jarrod
